JUDO FOR ADULTS
JUDO FOR KIDS

During our adults' class (13 and up), we focus the first part of the session on fundamentals class (such as stretching, falling, rolling, and body movement).  We make sure that everyone meets the minimum requirements of protecting themselves after being thrown as well as protecting our partner if we are throwing them.

We gradually move onto our standing or ground techniques which includes throwing (from all directions), pins (holding someone to the ground) and submissions (chokes, joint locks).  Towards the end of class, students have the option to practice our techniques in light randori (sparring) sessions.

Everyone trains with everyone at some point during the evening.  Each practice begins and ends with a show of a respect -- and probably 50 times more in between.  Judo is about respect for each other, the mat, the training and the dojo.

Kids can start as early as 5 years old in our judo classes.   We emphasize FUN while learning basic techniques and skills through judo-related games.    We learn basic footwork, basic movements and body awareness.

Our MAIN priority in this class is safety.  We teach the kids how to roll and fall from every direction.   Once the children have this skill under control, then we can start learning some simple throws and pins.   Joint locks and submissions are NOT taught in the childrens' class.

We emphasize dedication, hard-work, respect, self-control, honesty, honor, and friendship.

Our kids classes run twice a week.  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45-5:45pm.  Unlimited classes per month.
